Brain Waves and Security
My friend Brian directed my attention to an article about the possibility of using your brain waves as a biometric security device for accessing, e.g., an ATM machine. As a security professional, I was immediately concerned about the possible development of some kind of "remote brain wave reader" that someone can use to steal your brain wave patterns so they can be later played back to access your assets and information.
Not to worry, pointed out Brian, because tin foil hat technology has been around for years. As everyone knows, aliens, in conjunction with the CIA, have been monitoring everyone's brain activity for decades (and for far more nefarious purposes than accessing your bank account). You can buy some spiffy models on the Internet right here.
What's interesting is that they have a bowler a.k.a. derby model available. I've been looking for one of these (non-tin foil style) for several months now. Maybe I'll just go with the tin foil version and get both the fashion and brain wave protection benefits.
