A Soda by Any Other Name...

For those of you as fascinated by local colloquialisms as I am, I present this fine map of generic names for soft drinks, by US county.

On the same topic, I recently discovered that many of my West Coast cow-orkers use the term "trousers" when they mean to express what right-thinking people call "pants." They also rather foolishly use the term "tennis shoes" for anything that might correctly be called a "sneaker," regardless of whether or not they intend to play tennis with said shoes, or whether the footwear is even appropriate to the sport of tennis.
